Production of ICHAP Press Kit

VOICES collaborated with the India Canada Collaborative HIV/AIDS Project (ICHAP) & the Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society (KSAPS) to bring out an HIV/AIDS Media Advocacy Kit. The kit focuses on disseminating information about HIV/AIDS , in an attempt to educate the media and encourage them to attack the stigma and discrimination faced by people living with HIV/AIDS. ( November 2002.)

The White Ribbon Network for Peace

VOICES supported the white ribbon campaign initiated by the Bangalore Initiative for Peace, in the aftermath of the violence in Gujarat by providing logistical support and assisting with dissemination of information about the campaign through student volunteers. (June 2002)

Public Service Messages for Peace

In the context of communal violence in Gujarat, VOICES supported the production of four film spots as part of a series of public service messages on the theme of peace. (May 2002)

Hole Baagilu music video

VOICES produced a music video on the theme of women’s empowerment for Hengasara Hakkina Sangha, an organisation working with women and the law. (February 2002)

Bharat Utkarsh bridges the world of NGOs

VOICES, with Samyak, published a bilingual newsletter daily on the role of voluntary organisations in the development of Karnataka to coincide with a three-day seminar on the topic held at Bangalore. (January 2002)

I-to-I contacts continue

VOICES works with international volunteers through I-to-I, an international exchange programme based in U.K. I-to-I volunteers receive hands-on training on VOICES projects and bring a unique perspective to VOICES work.

Communicative English and VOICES

VOICES has a tie-up with the Communicative English departments of local colleges. Students work with VOICES as volunteers for specific periods of time where they learn about development issues, assist with ongoing activities and undertake communication initiatives of their own.
